kauricatHappy Saturday! Since I think she does not read this, I am going to post Kiwi's birthday present here.
This is the octopus from Amigurumi Knits.
He's not very big. Here's Piewacket for scale:
He really enjoyed helping knit this one. Especially the part with the pipe cleaners.
I loved learning how to fake graft on this project. It's one of those magical things like mattress stitch where you KNOW you seamed it, but even you cannot see where. So cool.
I think I'm going to make myself one of these and wear him with my steampunk pirate outfit (since I'm not an airship pirate, but more of a submarine pirate). Like, instead of a parrot, have an octopus.
And finally, here is a picture of just Pie. He looks so silly when he's enjoying his sunbeam.

Date: 2011-04-26 08:22 pm (UTC)speaking of, she's the sunbather in our house. all you have to do is say, "Azrael! your sunpatch is in here!!" and she comes running to take a bath in it. Gabby will sit in the sun for awhile but i think it's too warm. she prefers the cool tiles and lurking in dark shadows instead. hehehe
