I'm up too late again, but I slept late so hopefully that evens things out.
We moved some more game room stuff over tonight and the game room is starting to really look like a game room. Pres Man had his Sunday game there and I was pleased that everyone found the house. They even ordered pizza! I hope they tipped him well, because it's my reputation. ;)
Tonight I nearly finished the upstairs baseboards; I need to do Spair 'Oom and one tiny section of the hallway and then we'll be ready to move stuff into all the bedrooms and the living room.
I put the teflon paper stuff* in the master bedroom closet which will keep our clothes from getting snagged on the cedar chipboard that they lined that closet with. I'm glad it's cedar, but it's not smooth. We found some really old "cedar closet liner" stuff out in the shed, so I'm pretty sure they meant to go back in and do that but never got around to it. That's on my list of things to do down the road. I'd rather put in thin cedar planks than sand that stuff smooth. Planks will be more attractive.
We went to the hardware store and it is my FAVORITE hardware store. I don't even know why. It just makes me happy to go there, so I'm glad we're closer to it now. They seem to have what I want without me having to hike all over creation (on a hard cement floor) to find it. We got a new flood light bulb for our side porch light, some more wood floor mopping stuff, more magic erasers, etc. I am pretty darned hard on those erasers. But the walls and doors are looking MUCH better!
When we were checking out, I had A Moment. My first moment of officially claiming to be a Home Owner. This hardware store has a rewards card kind of like a Dillons card. You scan it every time you go there and build up points. Plus you get special offers or something. I figured since we're probably going to be visiting this store a lot in the near future, we might as well earn some rewards points for doing so. While I was filling out the form, I saw a question where they wanted to know if we were homeowners and I got to put YES! I do not even care if this puts us on all sorts of lists for targeted ads. Bring it on!
I am way more excited about that than I probably should be.
It was pleasant to find out that our side porch lights were only burned out and not "nonfunctional." We think they may be motion sensitive, too.
I found out tonight that the master bedroom used to be blue. You can see it around the edge of the smoke detector and on a couple of places where they banged the wall something fierce.
I like blue. That's neat to me that it was blue. It might be again.
Tomorrow I will finish the baseboards in the small room and hopefully start papering shelves. I think the kitchen is going to take a long time to move, and I want to start on it yesterday.
*The teflon paper is something I have had for YEARS. It's on a roll about four feet long and it's used in making signs. This roll was salvaged by someone I used to know who worked at the sign company. I held onto it forever and really should have thrown it out, but this year I finally got to use it for TengaiCon AND for my closet. This just proves that if you keep something long enough, you will be able to use it. I may never throw anything away again.

"Yep, it's a rare thing, and when it comes to you it's important you act on it because confusion will take over before you know it."
"You're absolutely right. It makes perfect sense."
"You're having another moment?"
"That's two in two days!"
