This? Is NOT A CHRISTMAS SONG. I do not CARE if it happened on Christmas Eve, it is NOT about Christmas and should not get so much rotation during this season.

Today was productive! We went out and got some Christmas shopping done even though the weather turned really cold and windy.

Now I have ingredients for four more adult gifts for Christmas (gifts in a jar!) and we got much-needed cat food and cat litter. We got my Colorado BIL's gift and I also got my mom Apples to Apples; I think she will love it.

I also got some fake laminating stuff so I can make a reusable sign for our SnB on Sunday nights, along with a few sheets of business card paper so that S and I can carry around a few cards and hand them out to people who are interested. She meets lots of folks but our theory is that they forget what we're called or how to look us up later, so we're going to hand out cards. I'm also going to make her a gift of some cards for her etsy shop. :)

Last night was awesome. We went to Famous Dave's for Date Night Dinner and then we saw Voyage of the Dawntreader. I really enjoyed it. I like the changes they made.

When we got home, I thought I was too tired for tree decorating, but I went downstairs to just see where the Christmas tubs were.

I ended up unpacking two boxes of crafty stuff! That's two more boxes that Koganei can have for his move and two more boxes that are out of the store room! I was so happy with myself that I hauled all the Christmas stuff upstairs by myself.

We still have not actually put any decorations on the tree, due to being very tired after running around in the cold and wind (man, that will take it out of you!), but I have unpacked the Christmas stuff and I've got some ideas about where some things will go.

I was apparently very focused on wanting a BLUE CHRISTMAS last year. We have lots of blue decorations and I have three boxes of blue lights...So it figures that this year I want red and green stuff. LOL I already have a lovely red and green quilted tree skirt, and I have a golden lighted star for the top of the tree. I may have to go out after some gold garland, we'll see.

Or I may just work with what we have and have a rather bluish tree, which would not be the end of the world. I kind of feel like there must be another box of stuff somewhere that I am missing, but I really don't know where it could be.

The Nativity set suffered a casualty. Josephs's arm (which was holding a lantern) got broken off during the move. But I have superglue and I'm not afraid to use it!

Tonight at the game I am going to work on the second Nemo mitten and hopefully finish it up. Then I'll make the little fins, sew on the eyes and mouths, and make the i-cord to hold them together and they'll be ready to go! My sister's gift should be arriving any day now and once that happens I'll put them all right in the mail (yeah, right) and hopefully they will have them for Christmas morning.

Pres Man already has some gifts with his name on them! My mother is quick when she has Amazon wish lists to go off of. Except when it comes to me. This is what happens every year. I say "my wish list is updated" and she goes off to check it and decides that "all that stuff is so old that she probably already has it" and then gets me something else. And then I say "but I told you it was updated!" and she says "Oh, I thought you did, but then I thought maybe I was remembering it wrong...I'll know next year!"

This is the little dance we do every year. It's our own cute Christmas tradition. I should probably just delete everything next year and re-add it. Hrmphf.

It is really blowing here. It's so cold and it tried to snow but I think it may be too cold even for that. I put the blinds down already because the windows were letting in more cold than light. I really need some curtains but that requires measuring before you can even go shopping so that's not happening for a while

You know how little things make a big difference? We've had an open spot in our wall where a cable has been hanging out since we moved in. It was in the dining area so it was generally hidden by boxes but we knew it was there. Today we grabbed an outlet cover while we were out and Pres Man installed it. A small thing, but it makes such a big impact visually! I was like "Look Honey, you just increased the resale value of our home!" lol I do not plan to sell this house any time soon, that was just a joke. I love our little house.

It's nearly time to meet the gamers for supper so I need to go wake up the husband. This means the cat will lose his warm lap (it is SO HARD TO TYPE RIGHT NOW) but it's got to be done. Pie was amusing himself earlier with the unpacked decorations. I heard him batting something that had a jingle bell on it. We got him a Santa Hat today at PetCo and I am really hoping he'll wear it for a picture. It's got a little beard that goes under the chin and there is a mousie on the beard! It's so cute. So far he likes it because it smells like a pet store and he does not know it is a hat. We'll see if we can get a family Christmas picture in front of the tree this season to commemorate our first Christmas in the house.
