(no subject)

Dang. This has been kind of a frustrating night. I worked and WORKED on that hat tonight, and have not made any progress. I know what NOT to do, but I still have a hat with no trim. I have one more idea that will probably work, but it will take time and I'll probably have to get more ribbon to make it work right. The amount of ribbon is (I think) what has been messing me up every time. I got a bit more than twice as much as the circumference of the hat brim, but I think I really needed to get three or four times the circumference to get the look I want. :P

BUT, I did spend the time and even though I have nothing concrete to show for it, I think I know now what to do.

And it's not the end of the world if I have to go back to JoAnn's tomorrow because that's when their moonlight madness sale begins. I could probably get a whole roll of ribbon to play with.

I'm going to try to go to bed.

And it just brings home to me how much I DO NOT inuit how to Steampunk up normal (or unnatural, in this case) things. I can recognize it but I cannot create it myself. Oh well.
