I FOUND A HAT
Sep. 21st, 2010 09:19 pmI found a hat. And it may be a perfect hat. Not perfect right now, but it will be. And you know what? Out of the tons (TONS) of pirate hats that the costume store had, this was the ONLY hat exactly like this. So my false urgency about doing it tonight wasn't that far off at all.
I went to the mall afterwards to see if I had made a huge mistake by jumping on this hat, but I didn't. They didn't have ANY adult black tricorns (or black ANYTHING in pirate hats). They had lots of Jack Sparrow hats (complete with hair hanging off), but that's sooo not what I'm looking for.
This hat has gold braid on it and red ribbons, which will have to come off, but I think it will be reasonably easy. The brim has a firm wire in it that you can use to pose the hat. Some hats had snaps to hold the brim up or even velcro! *shudder* This is much better.
Next post will have pictures of the hat and the stuff I got at the thrift store.
