Apr. 25th, 2010 06:59 pmIt has been quite windy here today. The kind of wind that makes you think that any second it might start pouring rain, but then it never rained at all. Overcast as heck, windy like whoa, but no rain. And no rain tomorrow, apparently, even though originally they thought the rain would make an appearance.
Did I mention that it was windy? The kind of wind that makes your house creak. I hope the roofers weren't trying to do their roofing in this windiness. They were not on the roof yesterday by 9:30 a.m. or so, so I am guessing that this crew does not work weekends.
But speaking of the roofers, the Slap-in-the-Face Lady said that they are indeed going to strip the roof and all that. So that's good news.
I feel like I have done very little this weekend, but that's not really accurate. I just haven't done any packing. Yet.
We went to a charity car wash that D. had organized and that was more fun than I expected. I slipped her $50 but I wrapped it in a 10 so she wouldn't notice. I did not want a scene.
We had our first wasp of the season check out the front stoop the other day, but he eventually decided against building here. I am hoping that the little black garden spider helped convince him to look elsewhere. Go Spider, go!
I got the laundry done. Well, nearly. I have to fold the towels and the whites, but everything else is completely put away already. That is awesome for me.
We had the game on Saturday night and though I came close to getting my character killed, she managed to survive. Whew. I would hate for the team to have to learn a new name already...
I formatted a Word Doc for printing on our colored index cards. We're going to tape the cards to the boxes to show which room they belong in. Each room will have a designated color but we're going to print the name on the cards too for added clarity.
I thought we'd be able to load them into the paper compartment on our laser printer but I am not sure now that this will work. It would suck to have to feed them all by hand and I hope that I can figure out a way to make them print quickly and without a lot of handholding.
Dang, I should have sent 12Stargazers' hat home with her roomie on Saturday. Whoops.
I got some Calgon and refilled my container so now if I want Calgon to take me away, I can do that.
We also have six corn muffins from Famous Dave's for me to inhale as I work on packing tonight. I'm going to pack everything that was on the entertainment center, and perhaps some more books as well.
Geez, I wish it would stop blowing and just rain. The oak pollen is murder!
