Tonight we braved the Mall. We went first to Waldenbooks but they only had ONE calendar of the type I was looking for, and while it was Harry Potter (yay) it was not layed out as handily as the calendars I have had before.

So we traipsed down to the kiosk (thank you, Mela, because I wouldn't have even THOUGHT of exploring further), where I couldn't find anything but more HP stuff and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit engagement calendar. I was ready to give up but then Pres Man spotted the Perfect One. It was as if the heavens opened up and choirs of angels began singing.

It is a left-handed engagement calendar.

Yes, it is perfect. Spiral bound, opens the CORRECT WAY thankyouverymuch, and it is chock full of left-handed stuff. I'm so in love with it.

I think Pres Man's eyes are better now that his ears aren't working. Hopefully when his ears unclog he won't go blind or anything like that.

Anyway, that was a success (and purchased with my mall gift card!), and then we went to McAlister's Deli, where I had awesome iced tea with my meal and found out that they have tea punch cards. I am ALL over that. The guy gave me three punches for one tea. I only need nine total punches before I get a free tea, so that'll be easy.

Worked some on the hat tonight, but only halfheartedly. Pie was needing some attention so I gave up and petted him instead. Also, I set my hair, which still takes me a while even though I'm faster than I was. And after I put the humongous curlers in, I realized that there went my chance to try on the hat... LOL

It looks really good though. I'm hopeful that when I finally try it it'll be the right size, because it's matching what I had envisioned.

I read some more in the third Barbara Walker treasury today. You know why I love that book? Because she really dives into how charts work and how she like to design them. Also, it includes textures, cables, lace, and mosaic patterns. You know why I don't like that book? A lot of the designs are her own, rather than the tried and true designs that everyone really loves. This means that a lot of her cable designs look subtly wrong to me, as she likes to make them wonky rather than perfectly even on both sides of the Y axis at all times. Also, about half of her mosaic patterns look like swastikas to me and while they are interesting designs, I feel that I will never let myself knit them.

I really do love her spider, though. That is just too cool.

Tomorrow I'm going to don makeup and everything (perhaps even a necklace) and take the afternoon off to go straighten things out at school. Get re-enrolled, buy books, talk to the head of the gestapo and see about getting my name off the naughty list, etc. I should go put that into my new calendar RIGHT NOW.
